| Eagle Scout Award |

Congratulations to Chance Taylor who earned the right to be an Eagle Scout on Thursday September 18, 2008. He is the second Eagle Scout in Crew 248. He is also the second Eagle Scout of our Charter organization, The American Legion Post 48 of Hickory, NC.
This is our second Eagle Scout Award this year. We now have a total of three Eagle Scouts in Venturing Crew 248, which now has 17 members. We have two more scouts that will be going for their Eagle Award soon. |

ADULT LEADER BASIC TRAINING
New Leader Essentials and Venturing Leader Specific
This training is designed to introduce adult Venturing Crew leaders to the basic information needed to support their Crews. This training is required for adults to earn the various training awards and for the Crew to earn the Centennial Quality Unit Award. The training provides detailed information on all facets of the Venturing Program including:

YOUTH VENTURING LEADERSHIP SKILLS COURSE
This course is specifically designed to be taught to all youth Venturers in the Crew.
The Venturing Leadership Skills Course was created to help teach young adults the attitudes and skills that good leaders demonstrate. Practicing and mastering these skills will help enable Venturers to have positive leadership experiences. The course introduces, explains, and provides practice exercises for leadership skills such as Vision, Communication, Organization, and Synergism using a wide range of activities and reflection.
COST: NONE – Cookout Lunch provided
